Action Team Captains from Manatee School for the Arts were awarded a Public Service Award on Feb 20th from Palmetto (FL) Mayor Shirley Bryant for their dedication to serving their community.

In late February, Palmetto, FL Mayor Shirley Bryant hit the pause button on her job of running the city to preside over a special presentation to recognize the selfless dedication to community service of the Manatee School for the Arts Action Team. Manatee’s Action Team Captains are busy throughout the year planning and participating in community service events in the Palmetto area. Some of their activities include bi-weekly park clean ups, setting up their local community’s festival, working various arts and crafts stations at their community’s Fun Day and transplanting sod, painting and cleaning their high school’s parking lot.
